Want the body of your dreams? Stop hating the one you have right now.
You think counting your macros and eating your veggies is hard?
I’ve got something even harder for you- owning your mental game and valuing your body- where you are- RIGHT NOW.
How many times a day do you say things to yourself that are negative? How many times do you squeeze your belly fat, pinch your thighs, or feel bad about your arms in a day? How many times do you say “I wish, or if only”… as you feed yourself another diet coke, or piece of cake, or don’t give yourself vegetables? Think it’s a coincidence? It’s not.
Let me put it another way.
If I drove up to your house in a brand-new Ferrari and handed you the keys and told you this was your new car, how good of care would you take of your new vehicle? Would you make sure it was housed in a protected shelter, give it the best fuel, and hand wax it once a week?
Now what if I drove up to your house in a beaten-up old Chevy? How do you think you would take care of it? Most people would give zero f*cks about the old car. They’d put the cheapest fuel in it, probably never wash it, and drive it over every pothole.
The sad thing is most people treat their bodies like this. They want the look and feel of the Ferrari but they care for their bodies like beaten up old Chevys.
And they say “when I have the Ferrari body, THEN I will take care of it well”. Except it doesn’t work like that. You get the ‘Ferrari” body by putting in the work every day, by giving your body tons of TLC, and it EVOLVES into the lean, mean, fighting machine you envision.
THIS is probably one of the hardest things you will ever do. THIS is the hurdle that I work the hardest as a health and nutrition coach to overcome.
People think if they put the high-octane fuel in the Chevy once a week, drive it around the block a few times, and occasionally rotate the tires that its going to just miraculously CHANGE into the Ferrari. NO- it requires CONSISTENCY.
It requires the high octane fuel EVERY DAY. It requires daily maintenance, daily drives- some short and some long. It requires rest, and avoiding the potholes, and lots of attention. THEN one day you wake up and its evolved into the sports car of your dreams.
So- today- not tomorrow, or next Monday- TODAY- start treating your body like the Ferrari it IS instead of the Chevy you have decided it feels like. LOVE it for goodness sake.
Think about what you put into it, how you talk about it, and how you treat it. And the more time you give it what it needs, the more it will change it what you want it to be.
You can’t hate an awesome body into existence. But you can love the awesome body you have right now.
