Very Beneficial Stretch Routine For CrossFitters | Post WOD Stretches


Stretching is one of the least favorite things to do by many fitness enthusiasts, but one of the most important things for keeping your body safe and performing it’s best. Here is a great stretch routine for CrossFitters focusing on areas a lot of areas that need extra attention due to all the exercises we perform, as well as the ones that seem to get as much love as other areas. This CrossFit stretch routine is comprised of 5 different stretches along with a bonus stretch that I notice many people tend to skip out on. You would recommend performing these as post WOD stretches to lengthen the muscles after all the contraction done during the workout. Check out the list of stretches below and the recommend time frame for each one.

STRETCHES
Seated Figure 4 | Glutes
Straddle | Hamstrings
Upright lunge | Hips
Lying pec stretch | Chest
Puppy dog w/ twist | Lats
{Bonus stretch}
Standing calf or Down dog | Calves
 
Post workout / Rest days
Perform 1-2 rounds of the stretches, holding for 2-3 minutes each (or 1.5 each side)
 
Before working out (within an hour)
Perform only 1 round of the stretches, holding for 1 minute max
