Welcome to my first full body stretch routine video that you can follow along with me. This stretch routine will help improve your flexibility and range of motion, especially if you are overly tight in any of the areas we focus on. This is a great routine that’s for a full body stretch for sore muscles or after a workout. I wouldn’t perform these long static holds within an hour before you workout or play a sport. In this video, the stretches we perform are:

 

Down dog

Straddle

Saddle

Upright lunge

Puppy dog

Thread the needle

 

We hold each position for about a minute. If you notice any of them being really restricted and feel much tighter than other areas, I would hold the stretch for 2-3 minutes to increase flexibility and range of motion in that area. NEVER push yourself into a position too deep to prevent any pulls or aggravation in the muscle/joints. We want to stay calm and relaxed, only putting our body through a mild stretch so it can lengthen.
